Well, That title is really a joke...a Lil dry humor....I'm going to "Illuminate" something very serious and sad and you folks have me waxing funny. Today Nov 6 is the official end of the Rainy season in the South East, which runs from Mid-April thru Nov. 6 The problem, as I'm sure your all aware by now, is that it was the "driest rainy" season on record and comes on the back of two years of lower than normal rain fall. So what does this mean? Well, Lake Okeechobee is currently about 10 feet under its normal level and is around 6 feet below sea level. That means salt water incursion that began months ago is going to be allowed to continue and its now a matter of months(not years) before the Lake dies from the drop in PH that will occur from the salt. To add "salt" to the wound, This dry season which still receives rain, just not normally as much as a rainy season, obvious given their names. But do to a light Elnino condition expected to be even dryer! Water is still being taken from the Everglades which cant afford to give any. The only good thing I can say about Whats going on in Florida is due to the real estate crash developers have ceased there forward encroachment on that pristine and fragile ecosystem. I guess I'll end it there on an up note note instead the usually down "pour". Future prediction- By 2015 water will be more valuable than oil. If forced to, you can live without oil, you cant live more than tree days without water. So, because most of the worlds fresh water is stored in The glaciers, the Greenland Ice Shield and the Polar(north and South) Ice Caps. They are all melting at an alarming rate faster than anyone could have predicted. 2015- Water will be 12-15 dollars/gallon, no public water uses allowed any more, Pools, fountains, fish tanks, car washes(unless built with a self contained recycling system) and absolutely no landscape watering! water will be rationed to each man women and child based on a study to determine amount needed for one shower/week. Tooth brushing and drinking. A special allotment will be given through a drawing for those pets still allowed. Desalination plants( transforms salt water into fresh) will be a very costly(est 600,000,000 per plant)and require a large amount of energy. Which is how we got here to begin with. Not looking pretty is it???? WE/YOU can still prevent this catastrophe....tic toc tic toc
