why should we be concerned and surprised that our schools have become a killing feild. isnt the school just one extension of a larger society. when i went school there was the normal picking on by bullies. there were fights (usually fists, and on a real rare occ a knife) but the weapons proliferation in our schools today mirrors that of a larger world. it is not just a random act anymore, its a daily event happening in one school or another, irregardless of urban or rural settings, all over the world now.. parents were once very comfortable, once they saw their child board the bus, knowing where they were and what was happening while there... those days are gone... possibly forever. we've evolved to, metal detectors, random searches, armed policeman in the halls and id badges that must be shown to move from one class to another, what i find odd is, i guess its the new "class or course" taken by students, they dont get graded and its not an elective. its teaching children to prepair for whats "out there"I use to be upset with fact that everyone graduates high school with the ability to figure out the square root of an isosceles triangle, but dont know how to balance a check book!!!! wouldnt it be beneficial? how about a class that prepairs for life in the economic world... understanding credit card contracts(you actually need a Phd for full understanding)banks mortgages, car loans, rental aggrements etc, etc. Today Nov.20) news story huntsville Alabama bus is forced of the road and over bridge, killing 3 and seriously injuring 34 more ..... who are the bus drivers today ? do you know who drives your chilrens bus????the plight of children around this world is truely horrific! do you all know what a Pepenadores is.... its a child from central and south america, that sleeps in, eats from and basicly erks out an exsistence in the garbage dumps....why are the children being born into a world that cant support the parents???? UNICEF, estimates 2,000,000 children live in poverty in Honduras alone!!!!To help here go to www.unicef .org and just pick one. I found out of a program that is focusing on feeding those "throwaway children" as they are called.Go too yfcrickbeck@hotmail.com. Mark Twain once said, "common sense is very uncommon" You would think that educators would be the group with the most common sense??? Well....... Have you heard about the 29 yr old man that has been enrolling himself in the 5th grade.(enrolling-because he has done it twice) this current stint lasted 5 months!!!!!! Yes Its down right freaky. The teachers that had him in thier classes actually said,"he was a very good student, always behaved and turn in homework on time?>>?"{} ? HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN??? I saw the MAN on the news he didnt look 12 to me. he looked 29. And equally as odd. The 9yr old boy who stole a car after school and drove to the airport and somehow got a ticket and boarded a plane, then landed in Dallas and repeated the act to board another plane. It wasnt untill the third flight that someone got suspicious??????????? So much for homeland security when a nine yr old can cercimmvent. April 17,2007 "A day that will live in Infamy" T.Roosevelt refering to Pearl Harbor. That was untill 9/11 And then was Columbine and now we have Virgina Tech. There will always be escalation untill we face each other and respect what who each one sees.

I agree our Children are our most valuable resource, but they aren’t being taught to think the schools are teaching our children to follow the leader. Children are book smart but have no common sense and the educators are the worst they have no common sense at all. Most teachers want to make excuses for what they teach and that is how to pass one test for the state. The children of our great country deserve better; there is no excuse that the children aren’t learning basic math they are using a calculator instead of their minds. Parents have to teach their children; the homework a first grader has is too much. The children go home from school and have a few more hours of school with their parents if they are lucky and their parents care. How many children will it take for the government controlled schools to mess up before they figure it out?
