Someday, somewhere in the universe, a unfinished and discarded painting will be found. It reflects an image that is hard to understand. What can be deduced is the great sorrow and anguish of the artist. It tells of a sad story. Of a once great vision, of creation. That vision seemingly gone horribly wrong.
The picture seems to mirror a familar time and place. The canvas was placed on the esal millions of years ago. The gradual covering of the canvas begins with a background and leading to the forfront. Its coverd with scenes, landscapes and events.
As you gaze at the painting you can see the history in the different layers. You notice the intricaces and delicate strokes used by the artist. The background or first layer is so perfect, it depicts a new world, the heavens and sky. The next layer also appears flawless. It shows the earth, trees, mountians and waterways. They were painted long antecedent our arrival.
The colors are vibrant, the brush strokes deliberate but, as you move towards the forground you begin to see the introduction of life. There is movement, different than the wind, the flow of rivers or the dance of clouds accross the sky. It's creatures. Flying, running, swimming and procreating.
As you approach the final layers you begin to see and ultimatly feel a frustration by the artist in what picture is becoming illuminated. You can see the frantic attempt at touch ups and paintovers. But, the brushstroke has lost its delicate touch. As the picture continues to blurr you are saddened at the reality of what this painting is becoming. The clear bright hopeful begining has darkend from the mixing and over mixing of colors. The more colors added only create darker hews until you reach black.....once there, the artist is faced with a decision. Can it be touched up, Repainted, or must it be thrown out. Discarded as if it was not to be, does he start anew.... maybe not.
