"I have seen the Enemy.... and the enemy is me" Global environmental changes happen naturally, some are beneficial some are not. But those deriving from natural causation are part of a cycle of life that began billions and billions of years ago and were mapped out to happen in such a way. The hard to grasp point is that man has, in such a minute fraction of time, been able to disrupt that process. That disruption that we will now pay the ultimate price for has taken just a HUNDRED years to take accomplish. The normal cycles have been thrown into a giant time accelerator and is now out of control from even the original designer. Man has been a catalyst speeding up those changes and actually creating some new ones that wouldn't have existed without our presence. This post I'm going identify as many as i can. I will continue to add to the list as new info. becomes illuminated to me. Green House gases are gases formed from the burning of fossil fuels. Co2 released from auto combustion is probably the best known, but not necessarily the worst emitter. Methane gases are much worse. Cattle raised for human consumption is the largest single emitter of destructive greenhouse gas. A close second is emissions from coal burning power plants. Those already built and the Hundreds(yes hundreds! China alone built 112 this year! And forecast to build another 100 next year.) Logging and "slash and burn" to gain land for more agriculture to feed the billions here now and the the quarter billion new mouths each added each year. Decimating the rain forests of South America. Burning refuge and forest fires also are a huge problem. 20 million tons of co2 is released for every acre burned.(9,ooo,ooo acres burned in 2006 in the US alone)That's a whole lot of co2! That is compounded by the fact that those 9 million acres are no longer absorbing co2 which it does during its normal process of photosynthesis. Even the gas released by the 7 billion humans is a contributor The temp increases and their effects are felt everywhere. The melting of the Ice cap is of special concern. The cap serves as a regulator for surface temps. As it shrinks its ability to reflect the suns heating rays is also shrinking. This causes the rise in sea levels which increases the absorption of those rays compounding the problem. The ground in far north of our globe consists of perm. and semi perm. permafrost. As warming continues it is quickly changing the amount of ground covered by them. When that thawing occurs we are allowing harmful methane gases, stored for millions of years, from decomposing plant life to escape. That methane coupled with that produced from landfill and dump sites is accelerating the whole climate change process. Some notable scientists predict we could see the end of the Polar Ice Cap by mid century! Please read that last sentence over again. The thawing is also interfering with insects populations. The Birch-bark beetle population held in check by the cooler temps in spring time have reproduced with devastating consiquences.40,000,000,000(40Billion) birch tress have been eaten. completely stripping an area in Alaska twice the size of Yellowstone park!Greenland's ice fields are melting faster than any could have predicted 60% of it is all ready gone. The great glaciers of the world began to slow their forward movement about fifty yrs ago and stopped about 20yrs ago. They are all now receding(melting). The Warmer temps are reducing, and will eventually eliminate, maple syrup production in Vermont, New York, Maine and New Hampshire. Long term the same will happen in Canada. As sea levels rise much of the worlds coastline is at risk. The risks very but they all spell disaster. Saltwater incursion into fresh water habitats and drinking reservoir's . Flooding important estuaries that are vital to the existence of many birds. Migration patterns and breeding habits of many species of birds have been altered by the warmer temps. A stronger version of Mad Cow disease known as Blue tongue has emerged from Africa and has spread through Europe and now has crossed the English channel and is threatening livestock. Its transferred through Widgets(small bugs that have exploded in numbers due to warmer climate) Once infected it is believed it will kill 2/3 of all livestock. Harmful Toxins generated by plant life are growing stronger as the Earth warms. Allergies and respiratory problems are only going to get worse. Insects thrive on warm wet climates like mosquitoes that transmit water borne illnesses that now kill 6,000 people per day world wide. They seem to be the only species on Earth today that is Not in danger of extinction... Until All other life forms do and then they will have nothing to feed on. Deforestation of the rain forest along with oil exploration and drilling is decimating one of the most valuable ecosystems on Earth. The warming of our planet is causing neg effects globally, some fore-casted some that were not thought of. The deserts are expanding because of warmer climates and associated drought. The Sahara and others are actually swallowing up the surrounding villages that have eked a survival in and already harsh environment. Warmer weather will create more drought which in turn reduces our ability to farm. This will increase starvation globally.(its already killing thousands daily world wide mostly children. I know this is very depressing but we must see the real and full picture if drastic changes(that's what is needed) are to be implemented. Scientist are looking at the relationship between rising sea levels and a slowing down of the Gulf stream, The conveyor belt that moderates climates in much of the northern hemisphere. If it continues to slow or worse stop. Much of the biggest agricultural areas that produce most of the world food will be lost. England will have a climate similar Greenland or Iceland! Life forms of all types are under siege. We are losing species to extinction at a mind blowing rate of over 30,000 per yr!! A recent article in the Science Journal quotes science as saying that we currently lost 30% of edible species in our oceans and will loss as much as 90% by 2048. All of these problem exist now because of one very simple, but not addressed statistic. The resources in any ecosystem determine population size of the creature compete for and who need those resources to exist But not Man, oh no, we have once again over ridden nature. The resources on our plant are est to be able to sustain life for around 3 billion people, without depleting those sustainable resources. We currently have a global population exceeding 6.8 billion with an average increase of 77,000/day or 1/4 billion/yr more mouths to feed from those` diminishing resources! Calculations are "IF" we make it to 2050 there will be an additional 10 billion. My bet would be Mother nature will show her displeasure and in doing so will take care of over population by then. | | | |

The drought of Love coupled with the searing heat of hatred can wither any life..... Its not the tree that stands tall and proud against the fury of the wind that remains, its the one that bends recognizing the power, but not succumbing. I am, therefore i MUST think. Question everything for everything is not what it appears. With every answer, a multitude of questions must be asked. The more you have, the more you need. Your rich by what you can do without. Ive never been as wealthy as i am today. My happiness has always come from my soul, its has never been effected by the actions of those around me. But, I now find I'm effected by the lack of actions of people around me. joram 07

I saw a show today on the weather station that pretty much encapsulates a process that has been going on since man first realized he could alter the physical world around him for his benefit. This includes the scientific world today. From the day that most of these scientist received their first lab kit, as an innocent, naive and inquisitive sort, they found fascination in the ability to change something that exists naturally into something that only exists because they mixed, heated, separated, etc. etc. in a process. The problem is they appear to have no clue about the long term effects of what they do. They need to be closely watched from now on, and before funding or permission is granted for their work, a panel must review its purpose and benefit along with its cost and effect on the world today, tomorrow and in the future. Here is what has me in a fit! There are groups of scientists working in various fields that concentrate on weather and their attempts to change it. NOAA(Natl Oceanic and Atmospheric assoc.) has been researching ways to prevent or minimize Hurricanes. Insurance co. are among the biggest backers for this work. Now, The illumination! Hurricanes are a product of our very intricate weather system that Pacha Mama has created to allow us to live here. Every single facet of the weather has a cause and effect that is beneficial to our world. Hurricanes are one of the few ways in which our planet regulates surface temp. It draws heat off the surface(Ocean) to regulate temp. The warmer the water the stronger the storm. Now, with our planet already in a dilemma regarding global warming. What the F--K are they they thinking? They are actually trying to find ways to stop hurricanes from forming or destroying them once they have!! Smart, its like sitting in a car with a broken ac unit and deciding its better to shut the windows. I have researched a lot about hurricanes, among other weather events in hopes of better understand what their purpose is. Now there is some debate about with global warming that hurricanes will become more frequent and stronger. Obviously in earths attempt to cool it self, more hurricanes will form and as water temp increase so will the severity of those storms. Right? Well, there is a problem here Houston! The only thing that can hurt a hurricane is wind shear. It prevents the eye from either forming or becoming more concentrated. The more concentrated the eye the more convection the bigger and badder they become. With the surface temps rising we will also have more Thermal up drafts and that is what creates windshear. So, my prediction for the current season is much lower than forecasters. Yes, they are "formally trained" but my training is coming from information gathered today from real time and real science. We'll have to see who predictions are closest? So, less storms will form, but if one does form .... look out! This windshear effect could cause another catalyst effect when you factor in the shrinking Polar Ice Pack, Greenland's Icefields and its ability to reflect sun energy, as it shrinks its ability to do what mothernature wants to do shrinks with it. So, with all the intelligent people in the scientific world you would think there would be one with common sense. But, as Mark Twain mentioned, "Commonsense is very uncommon"

"The Breeding of the bee," says a United States Dept of Agiculture bulletin on artificial insemination,"has always been handicaped by the fact that the Queen mates in mid-air and with whatever drone she encounters." There has been an alarming developement in the use of honey bees to pollinate our crops. Florida was the first to experience what they now term CCD or colony collapse disorder some farms are seeing as much as 90% of the hives are disappearing and those reports are now coming in from 27 states according to a nationwide investigation. Congressional panels and the US Dept of Agriculture are "Swarming" to the problem that is appearing to worsen. The future ramifications are truely scary! As i mentioned from a quote from an EB White refrencing breeding bees. Not only can we not artificially breed bees, but without them we will ALL starve! we cant find a way to replace their function nor duplicate it.Once again "Pachamama"(mother nature) reminds us who is the boss.Famine is on the brink of being the single largest killer in human history! With droughts reducing the farmable land and bees going on strike it appears that we all might get to experience what going to bed hungry is like. Here is E.B.Whites Poem,My father was very fond of it.(He was married 5 xs) When the air is wine and the wind is free and the morning sits on the lovely lea and sunlight ripples on every tree,Then love-in-air is the thing for me. Im a bee, im a ravishing, rollicking, young queen bee, thats me. There's a kind of a wild and glad elation in the natural way of insemination; Who thinks that love is a handicap is a fuddydud and a common sap, For i am a queen and im a bee,I'm devil-may-care and im fancy-free, The test tube does not appeal to me, not me, im a bee. And im here to state that ill always mate wth whatever drone i encounter. Let mares and cows, by calculating improve themselves with loveless mating,Let groundlings breed in the modern fashion, ill stick to the air in grand old passion; I may be small and im just a bee but i wont have science improving me, Not me I'm a bee. On a day that's fair with a wind that's free, any old drone is the lad for me. Im a bee and i simply love it,im a bee and im darn glad of it, i m bee and i know about love: You go upstaires, you go above, you do not pause to dine or sup, The sky wont wait its a long trip up. You rise, you soar, you take the blue, its you and me,kid, me and you, its everything, its the nearest drone, its never a thing you find alone. im a bee im free. If any old farmer can keep me and hive me, Then any old drone may catch me and wive me; Im sorry for creatures who cannot pair on a gorgeous day in the upper air. Im sorry for cows who have to boast of love affairs by parcel post. Im sorry for man with his plots and guile, his test tube manner and test tube smile; Ill multiply and ill increase as i always have-by mere caprice; For i am a queen and im a bee, im devil may care and fancy free, Love-in-air is the thing for me, oh,its simply rare in the beautiful air, and i wish to state that i will always mate with whatever drone i encounter. In fond memory of My father whos recitles of this and many others i miss. And in hopes that we beg forgiveness of Pachamama so the bee can once again be fancy free. Florida and Texas are taking a severe beating from mother nature and its only just beginning. 3/12/08 UPDATE Please go to Illumination guy's and read an update and watch the videos (60 minutes segment and a nature station episode) in the comment section.
