Collectively, the Oil companies made 100 billion dollars in profit last year and spent LESS THAN 1% on research and developement of alterintive renewable energy! You all see those well orcastrated comercials telling us what they are currently working on to show they are looking for solutions. But, they fail to mention the amount of money invested, compareable to the money there stockholders and CEOs receive in options and extremly generous bonuses!

I pose a question to the scientific world. We are all(anyone with a brain) now acutely aware of mans effect on the ecology of the planet. There are things we do today that wont show its detriment for years. There are things we do that will never be revealed overtly but they have influenced processes that effect us. It's a fact that large cities create their own weather patterns because of the heat that it generates along with what it stores from the radiant energy received from the sun. Cement, stone, steel are all good conducts for heat. So, here is my question. When we extract billions of barrels of oil from the ground we create enormous voids where the oil once was. When we build cities, such as New York, we place hundreds of million of pounds on a very small geographical area. Do these two events potentially effect the tectonic plates that come in contact with them? Are we creating an environment to increase the likely hood of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions? I know with every things to worry, about do we need any more?........ This last question I can answer......YES!
